Set on the northern shore of a bay of the same name, Merimbula is the capital of the Sapphire Coast in southern NSW. Stretching south to the border parks and reserves of Ben Boyd and Nadgee, it is a region of enchanting natural beauty and pristine environment.
Family adventures await at Magic Mountain Theme Park where young and old can test run a roller coaster, water and toboggan slides, mini grand prix cars and Merimbula's own dinosaur land, Triassic Park.
Fishing, oysters and prawning are a way of life in these parts, but if you are a babe in the woods when it comes to dangling a line, there are plenty of experts in town to take you in hand. Operating from the Merimbula Marina, Sapphire Coast Fishing Charters offer game and reef fishing and whale and dolphin-watching cruises from September to December.
The fishing port of Eden to the south is home to Cat Balou which makes discovery cruises of Twofold Bay where one of the state’s largest whaling stations operated for many years.
