The town is also proud of the Daylesford Historical Society Museum which is regarded as home to one of Victoria’s outstanding pioneer collections. The museum is housed in the School of Mines built in 1890 to instruct team leaders in the skills of deep-lead mining.
The Cockatoo Zoo is a co-operative formed by local artists and designers to create functional sculptures, furniture, fountains and art for private homes, corporate clients. Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens are well worth a visit, while you can also book a llama to escort you on a gourmet picnic in the bush.
