A little village, six kilometres north of Bunbury and about 179 kilometres south of Perth, Eaton presides over the Collie River as it empties into the long and broad Leschenault Inlet where the locals claim the fish, crabs and prawns just jump in to your net.
With kilometre after kilometre of beaches lining the coast, it is a beautiful stretch of country. Not only are the beaches and waterways pristine, but the lush hinterland, with its picturesque dairy farms, orchards and stately karri and jarrah forests, can provide cool, serene relief from the sun and the sand.
Nearby Bunbury is a vibrant resort city with most of the conveniences you’d expect in a tourist destination. One of its most endearing and unusual attractions are the friendly dolphins of Koombona Beach near the mouth of the harbour. Most days the dolphins swim in for a bit of friendly interaction with visitors. It is an experience of a lifetime and not to be missed.
