Undulating white sands and safe family swimming make this coastal resort a popular spot. Situated 21 km south west of Harvey off the Old Coast Road, Myalup is a small, peaceful place with a population of 278 residents. The name comes from the aboriginal word “Mya” meaning paperbark tree. These distinctive and beautiful trees abound in the area.
Myalup lies at the southern edge of the pristine Yalgorup National Park, a haven to native wildlife and a bird sanctuary. The Park is also known for its stromatolites - sedimentary rocks comprised of layers of fossilised blue-green algae, and one of the first life forms known to exist on earth.
Myalup is renowned for its excellent beach fishing and pristine beaches.
