This is the famous 'Ginger Town', just up the road from Nambour, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, which boasts some of the most beautiful country in Queensland. Here you’ll find the Ginger Factory and Gingertown, which you can visit to see how the root is grown, harvested and processed.
One of the great attractions of this delightful area is the Saturday mornings markets at Eumundi, just 8 kilometres from town. The Eumundi stallholders present one of the best markets in the country, featuring generally brilliant creations and fresh and processed produce from the many artists’ and 'alternative lifestyle' colonies which abound in the district.
Yandina lies just to the north of Nambour, the centrally-located retail and service town for the central Sunshine Coast hinterland which is so rich in natural rainforest parks and reserves.
Native animals such as kangaroos, koalas and wombats, which can often be elusive in the wild, are on constant show at the Forest Glen Deer and Wildlife Park where they mingle with imported deer.
