Noosa Regional Gallery is an important part of its local community, with programs and events that support local artists and regional art . Admission is free except for some major exhibitions and events.

•   The Beach
The Sunshine Coast boasts an array of fine beaches. With over 70 kilometres of surf beaches, there are many unspoilt and secluded areas. In addition, there are some lovely river beaches which make an ideal spot for youngsters. Try Golden Beach in Caloundra, Maroochy River in Maroochdore and the Noosa River in Noosa.

•   Ginger Factory, Yandina
The Ginger Factory at Yandina is a theme park dedicated to the ginger plant, where you'll be astounded to discover ginger's versatility and uses in food, health preparations and beauty products. Walk through the sub-tropical gardens (featuring many varieties of ginger, of course!), enjoy a browse through the shops, including the Ginger Shop where hundreds of ginger-related products are stocked, or have a snack in the café. Admission to the Ginger Factory and many of the attractions is free. Charges are made for the train ride and some tours.

•   The Big Pineapple
The Big Pineapple at Woombye is an icon of the Sunshine Coast. Visit the pineapple and macadamia plantations with up to 5 tours. Entry to the complex is free, but a charge is made for the tours, which are both entertaining and informative, with fun rides and interesting commentary. For a great snack, enjoy fresh and delicious sundaes and parfaits on the restaurant's wide verandahs, overlooking the plantation.

•   Buderim Forest Park
Buderim Forest Park lies in the heart of the village of Buderim, on a plateau overlooking the beaches of the Sunshine Coast. The park is managed by Maroochy Shire Council and features subtropical rainforest with creeks and waterfalls.

•   Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens
The Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens features a range of plants native to the subtropical east coast of Australia, which are perfectly adapted to the gardens’ climate and conditions. The gardens are set amongst 82 hectares of existing forest, with creeks, lagoons, walks, picnic areas, artworks and wildlife.

•   Foote Sanctuary
The Foote Sanctuary in Buderim is an area of forest, with rainforest and eucalypt species. There are picnic areas, BBQs, walking tracks and abundant birdlife.

•   The Ocean
Whether you want to surf, boogie board, swim or just paddle, the Sunshine Coast is the perfect spot. Remember to swim between the flags and slip on a shirt, slap on a hat and slop on some sunscreen.

•   Superbee Honey Factory
The Superbee Honey Factory combines information and demonstrations about beekeeping and honey with amusements for children on a fairytale theme. Visit Three Bears Cottage, the House That Jack Built and the house of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Entrance is free except for some rides.

•   Blackall Ranges - Montville and Maleny
For a delightful scenic drive, head south-west to the Blackall Ranges. About 40 minutes’ drive from Noosa are the picturesque vilages of Mapleton, Flaxton, Montville and Maleny. There are charming cottages, delightful shops and the natural beauty of waterfalls and rainforests.
