•   The Shrine of Our Lady of Yankalilla
In the town of Yankalilla not far south of Adelaide, an apparition of Mary and baby Jesus has appeared above the tabernacle in the small Anglican Church. Many thousands of pilgrims have visited the site since it appeared in mid-1994.

•   Tandanya - the National Aboriginal Cultural Institute
The first institute in Australia dedicated to this subject. It houses a permanent collection of Aboriginal art together with temporary exhibitions and dance and theatre performances.

•   Dacou Aboriginal Art Gallery
An Aboriginal owned and operated gallery, with a wide range of Aboriginal art from the Utopia region. Many of the artists travel down from the region to use the gallery`s workshops to paint and finish art works, and many of the works are for sale.

•   Penfolds Magill Estate Winery and Restaurant
In the eastern suburbs of Adelaide lies this historic vineyard, which was established in 1844. Take a tour of the winery, taste wines or eat at the 5 star restaurant.

•   South Australian Military Vehicle Museum
Run by the Military Vehicle Collectors Society of SA, this museum houses a unique collection of vehicles and other items, such as uniforms and radios, ranging from the First World War to current times. Many of the vehicles are rebuilt to authentic running condition and most are road registered and driven regularly.

•   The Jam Factory
For the best in Australian craft, go to the Jam Factory. There are two galleries, which feature exhibitions of contemporary craft and design. It also has two retail shops that feature high quality collectable glassware, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, and a wide range of other craft.

•   Adelaide Gaol Historical Site
Open Sunday to Friday, you can walk around this historic site, visit cell blocks, exercise yards, prison facilities, hanging tower and graves. Regular guided tours are available on Sundays, and BBQ and refreshment facilities are available. If you`re feeling brave, take a night tour or even a ghost tour!

•   Rodney Fox Shark Experience
Since his attack in 1963, Rodney Fox has dedicated most of his life to the research, observation and preservation of the Great White Shark. The museum houses collectables, art and curios, pictures, clothing and fossil and modern shark teeth and jaws.

•   SteamRanger Tourist Railway
SteamRanger is a tourist railway service, operated by the SA division of the Australian Railway Historical Society. It conducts both short and long journeys, using either a steam or diesel locomotive. Based in historic Mt Barker, tours go south, as far as Victor Harbor. All in all a lovely way to sit back and enjoy the picturesque Adelaide Hills.
