Springbrook Observatory
|
| Springbrook lies behind the Gold Coast in the hinterland. It’s a great place for a day out, and what better way to finish than with a trip to the Observatory. View the stars and planets, weather permitting. Entry is free for children although adult donations are encouraged.

Beenleigh Historical Village

| Beenleigh lies to the north of the Gold Coast. The Historical Village boasts more than twenty of the area’s oldest buildings including public buildings and period houses.

Yatala Pies

| For some of the best pies on the Gold Coast, head to Yatala Pies, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast beside the Pacific Motorway. They have a vast selection of sweet and savoury pies. Yum! |
Fishing

River Mill

| The River Mill near Nerang is Australia`s first arrowroot mill, built in 1910. Today it is a museum, centred around the preserved milling machinery. There is a cafe and an animal park where children can feed the animals.

Crystal Creek Miniatures

| Crystal Creek Miniatures and Palmdale Stud is home to more than 100 miniature animals, including ponies, cows and donkeys – not forgetting the miniature dog family of Chihuahuas! Take a tractor train ride to see and pat the animals and enjoy a meal on the wide homestead verandahs.

Beaudesert Historical Museum

| Beaudesert Historical Museum will take you back to the pioneer days of the Gold Coast hinterland, with its Pioneer Cottage, farm implements and horse-drawn vehicles, including the carriage used by the Duchess of York during her visit in 1927. Entry is free. |
